The final part of our energy-saving solution is the evaluation of powerPerfector's installed performance.

The most common approach to determining energy savings is to compare two periods before and after implementation of the Energy Conservation Measure. This generates a saving number, but this is only valid if the two periods happen to be directly comparable. In many cases they may not be, so the savings figure is meaningless.

To give a fair evaluation, you must consider the factors that drive energy use on the site. For example, a common factor is the weather, which governs how hard heating or cooling equipment must work. Accounting for these ‘externalities’ using a regression analysis is a key part of our IPMVP adherent savings analysis.

This crucial work is carried out by EEVS Insight, the UK's leading provider of energy efficiency performance measurement and verification services.

EEVS deliver two key documents for every powerPerfector project:

  • An M&V Plan. This is provided to the client before the unit is installed, and explains EEVS’ analysis of the site’s baseline energy consumption. All parties use this document to agree how the savings will be ‘measured’ once the unit is installed, so our clients know there will be no fudging of figures later on.

  • A Savings Report. After installation, EEVS use the method agreed in the M&V Plan to produce a report on the savings, transparently explaining the steps they have taken in their analysis. This is auditable, conclusive evidence of the achieved ROI from your powerPerfector project.

For our clients, EEVS performance verification provides all-important comfort that they will get value for money. Crucially, if the EEVS analysis shows that the powerPerfector guaranteed level of performance has been missed, powerPerfector are required to make up the cost difference. This helps to significantly de-risk the investment in our technology – ultimately making decision-making much easier for our clients.
