The result is the most advanced and precise electronic control technology for the balancing and stabilisation of three-phase supply voltage to your site available today.

Our new controller – named the “iQ” – can be retrofitted to your installed powerPerfector Optimiser to; increase savings by 30%, improve site security, reduce maintenance, extend equipment life and substantially reduce capital replacement costs.

What does a pPiQ do?

It puts the control of your voltage and power quality into your hands for the first time and gives you security and savings at the most critical point in your site as it;

  • Allows you to set incoming voltage at the most efficient level eg 220V (+/-0.5V)
  • Gives a superfast response (<200ms) to correct incoming voltage to your set level
  • Reduces or increases incoming voltage variance of up to +/- 11% to your set level
  • Balances three-phase voltage to within 0.5V of each phase in <200ms.

All powerPerfector Optimisers improve power quality and site security by suppressing transients and harmonics which, together with Voltage Optimisation improve Power Factor and increase the lifespan of electrical equipment.

 

Upgrade your existing optimiser to an iQ

We can fit a powerPerfector iQ unit onto your existing optimiser, providing your business with the additional benefits of the iQ without having to replace the whole unit. This substantially reduces your capital replacement costs as well as ongoing maintenance costs.

Adding the powerPerfector to your existing optimiser will also help to enhance site security and realise further energy savings of up to 30%.

How to choose between the standard unit and the iQ

Not every business will require the added benefits of the powerPerfector iQ. This will very much depend on current usage and the improvements achievable through the installation of a power optimisation unit.

For each and every customer we undertake a full analysis of the energy consumption to establish which unit would be best suited, with the payback period clearly in mind. Therefore, we always recommend an initial conversation with our team to help clarify which is best for your business.

Costco Derby

Costco began installing powerPerfector technology in 2012 and has now installed 31 units. In February 2013 a powerPerfector unit was installed at the Derby branch which was upgraded to a powerPerfector iQ recently. Proving to be an instant success, the retro-fit installation took place in August 2016 and has resulted in an improvement of existing unit performance, taking the 8% existing savings to 13% – a near 60% jump in savings. Novotel

Novotel London City South

The Novotel London City South made a commitment to reduce their energy consumption and in January 2015 powerPerfector installed a 440kVA / 630Amp unit with a 9% optimisation setting. In 2017 the powerPerfector unit at this site was upgraded with an iQ.  The powerPerfector iQ is saving the site 9% of its electrical usage and perhaps more at times of higher load. The iQ upgrade has afforded the site greater functionality including the option to take the unit in and out of line. Read more here.

Abacus Lighting

Abacus made the decision in November 2015 to install a 440kVA powerPerfector unit at their headquarters and manufacturing base in Sutton-in-Ashfield, Nottinghamshire. Following the installation, the site saw a drop in consumption of around 9%. Abacus agreed to trial the new powerPerfector iQ in June 2016.  The site saw an additional 3.8% kWh savings which represented a 40% improvement since the original installation. Chase Leisure Centre - part of WLCT

The Wigan Leisure and Culture Trust (WLCT) were already seeing an excellent 6% reduction from the powerPerfector Plus unit installed in September 2013. As a long-standing customer, powerPerfector offered a free trial of the powerPerfector iQ, WLCT saw existing savings boosted following the upgrade, with the powerPerfector iQ providing an additional 2% kWh savings per year, which represents a 33% improvement from the original installation.
