Mike Lambert (our Engineering and Operations Director) and myself, Martin Stevens (Sales and Business Development Manager) recently spent a week in Greece with EcoMechanica, who have been our approved Greek distributor for the past five years.
Whilst Teams meetings and online exchanges are excellent tools when working with global partners, it felt great to meet up in person and catch up ‘in real life’ as opposed to through a screen. We spent time with Vasilios Georgiadis, Commercial Director of EcoMechanica , and Ioannis Pourakis, the company’s Managing Director.
Our EcoMechanica counterparts kindly arranged meetings with several leading Greek supermarkets. One of the retail chains is already an existing client; delighted with the performance of their existing powerPerfector installations, they will have 30 units installed in multiple sites before the end of the year. Furthermore, a number of site surveys and pilots were arranged with potential new retail clients.
Following several days of client meetings we attended the Boussias ‘Energy Efficiency in Manufacturing’ conference (of which we were a proud sponsor). The conference highlights innovative practices, services and products aimed at optimal/efficient energy management and reducing energy consumption. Our stand was in a brilliant position – right next to the refreshments area in the breakout zone! This meant we were able to meet delegates between the sessions, whilst also making sure to attend Vasilios’ presentation to an audience of approximately 150 delegates from several market sectors – 6 new promising leads from the conference are now being worked on.
With high energy prices in Greece, there was great interest in the financial and carbon savings a powerPerfector unit could bring to organisations. We felt a genuine sense of growing potential, very similar to the excitement we felt as powerPerfector was growing in 2008. Like stepping back in time!
